We opened our Affirmative Bookstore business February 2010 with the hopes of helping individuals with a mental health diagnosis acclimate to a work environment while gaining skills, confidence, and a purpose. With support from TSINY, the community, and the Queens Library we have been able to grow our business and educate the community about the importance of recovery as well as reducing the stigma of mental illness.
